Application for the Nancy and Cliff Forster Life-Long Learner Award: PYP, MYP and DP

The Nancy and Cliff Forster Life-Long Learner Award recognizes students who demonstrate a genuine love of learning and who exemplify the IB Learner Profile.

The due date for this application is December 20, 2019.

Only dues paying member schools are eligible for CAWS scholarships and awards. Dues must be received by December 20, 2019.

Winners will be contacted for completion of photo/video release forms. Schools with winning applications will be notified by the end of January 2020.

Award Description and Requirements

One winner will be selected from each IB program (PYP, MYP, DP). Students must be in the final year of their program, and at the DP level, only full IB Diploma candidates will be considered.

Nominators must attach a word-processed (500 words max) statement of why you are recommending this student as well as student transcripts.
Students must submit an essay: “Explain how you exhibit the IB Learner Profile in your life and how this has contributed to making you a life-long learner.”
PYP students – minimum 300 words, MYP – 500 words, DP – 650 words

Each winner will receive a plaque in addition to their cash award. The DP winner will receive a cash award of $1,000. The MYP winner will receive $250 cash award and their school will also receive $250 to use towards their IB program(s). The PYP winner will receive $100 cash award and their school will also receive $100 to use towards their IB program(s).The award should be presented at an assembly at your school.

For this award CAWS will consider only one application per school site or IB program. CAWS will not accept multiple award applications for the same student. Please complete the application in its entirety. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
