Congressman Harder sends Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Colleagues,

As we all prepare to end perhaps the most challenging school year any of us have ever faced, I want to thank those of you who participated in CAWS' virtual roundtables last week. Your feedback helps CAWS develop new ways to provide support to California's IB schools during these unprecedented times. Based on your suggestions, we will continue to advocate with IB to ensure they recognize the long-term impacts California's IB students and schools will face in the coming year. We will continue to be an information hub for IB, government and university developments. We also plan to begin offering subject and program-specific virtual roundtables for IB teachers; a schedule of events will be sent out later this summer. If you have a preferred summer email address, please be sure to update that information with Robin. If you have other ideas or suggestions for ways CAWS can help support you in the coming school year, please email Robin or me at your convenience.

Finally, I contacted my local congressman, Josh Harder, to ask if he could provide a letter to all of California's IB graduates. Congressman Harder attended Modesto High School and is an IB diploma recipient. He sent along a short video clip and a letter that you are free to share with your graduates if you wish.

Congratulations to the class of 2020. Though the times remain uncertain, CAWS will do all that it can to provide support as you move forward into the 2020-21 school year.

Warm regards,
Mike

President, CAWS
