Membership in the California Association of IB World Schools (CAWS) organization is extended to all IB schools in the state of California. The price of annual membership is $200 for each Authorized IB Program is $200 and $100.00 for Candidate schools. Click JOIN CAWS and become a member today.

  • Formally supporting your IB Association - a comprehensive network of professionals assisting one another in improving and strengthening the International Baccalaureate in the state of California.
  • A $50.00 discount on each registration fee for our Fall Forum and Spring Seminar when your programme is listed as a CAWS Member School on our website prior to an event.
 
Your IB Programme is eligible to nominate colleagues for:
  • CAWS Exemplary Teacher Awards - One each - PYP, MYP, DP & CP for $500.00 each. 
  • CAWS Global Conference Attendance Award - One Award for up to $3500.00 reimbursement. The recipient of this award must agree to attend the IB Global Conference to be held in New Orleans, LA,  July 15-17, 2025. 
  • CAWS IB Teacher Training Award - One Award for up to $2500.00 reimbursement. The recipient of this award must agree to attend 2025 CAWS IB Training at Lake Tahoe for MYP, PYP, IB Leadership – 19-22 June; DP/CP/ June 23 -26 June or ,PYP, IB Education  27-30 June.
 
Your IB Programme is eligible to nominate colleagues for:
  • CAWS 2024-2025 Student of the Year Awards, SOTY.  Your nominated student/s will receive an award of $200.00 upon completion of the SOTY application by our deadline.

Services Provided by CAWS to all California IB Schools

 

  • CAWS IB Training at Lake Tahoe, CA.
  • Invitations to attend CAWS roundtables Virtual CAWS Virtual Roundtables which provide collaboration on best practices and further networking.
  • Advocacy with the California state legislature.
  • Advocacy with the California Department of Education.
  • Advocacy for University and College recognition.
  • Representation and advocacy at IB Global Conference, IB Association Meetings and IB Provider Meetings on behalf of California IB Educators and students.
  • Summaries and updates of California measures related to the IB in California via our emails on CAWS IB Training, changes in legislation and university recognition policies.

 

Plan ahead for nominations:

  • Eligibility to nominate staff for CAWS Teacher Awards must show Membership posted on our website by 9:00AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Each CAWS member school may submit 1 application per member programme per award. All nomination applications with supporting documents are due on December 19, 2023 at 9:00AM.
  • Membership fees of $200.00 returned with an additional $50.00 as a CAWS Student of the Year Award to programmes who submit requests by our deadline of Monday, March 31, 2025.
