Supporting School Leaders Through AI: A Note for CAWS Members

Eblana Learning

Introduction Letter

Eblana Learning began because we saw school leaders making complex, high-stakes decisions with very little support. The noise was loud, and there was no clear, trusted space approaching AI through a whole-school lens. As former IB educators and leaders, with Rita's years at the IB as a Senior Curriculum Manager, we knew that feeling of being expected to know everything while holding responsibility for everyone. So we built what we wished we'd had: practical, values-led guidance that helps schools move forward with clarity and integrity.

We support international and IB schools to adopt AI safely, ethically and strategically across the whole school community, through four connected solutions:

  • AI Professional Development: Bespoke in-person and virtual workshops that build whole-school confidence and a unified approach to AI.
  •  AI Academy: 30+ on-demand courses covering AI strategy, literacy, ethics, safeguarding and more.
  •  AI Curriculum: 28 vertically aligned units and 400+ classroom resources to build AI literacy from ages 3 to 18.
  •  AI Certification for Schools: A structured portal to build strong foundations and benchmark progress against the Eblana AI Standards for Schools.

Together, these help your community become AI-Informed, AI-Safe and AI-Empowered, with outcomes you can see across the school:

  • School Foundations: A clear AI roadmap with strong governance, clear policies and a pedagogy-first vision.
  • Staff Efficacy: Teachers using AI ethically and efficiently to strengthen their practice, enhance learning and save time.
  • Community Readiness: Parents and stakeholders informed, aligned and reassured in your school's approach.
  • Student Engagement: Students building real AI literacy, sound judgement and the habits to use AI responsibly.

We're now working with over 80 IB schools around the world, among them some of the most innovative: including the Western Academy of Beijing and NIST International School. There's more to come this year. We're launching student self-paced curriculum modules to sit alongside our teacher-delivered ones, along with staff courses on building AI agents, setting up school AI infrastructure, exploring world models and coding with AI. We're also extending support to the teams that keep a school running: HR, admissions, marketing and communications, administration

Wherever your school is on its AI journey, we'll meet you there. We're sharing so many new resources for free, and you're welcome to use them and share them with your teams. Do go and have a look: eblanalearning.com/free-resources
